What is the Preferences tool?

Use Preferences to set configure how often you receive email notifications of site activity, to set your time zone, and to select your language.

Editor

This tab allows you to set your preferences for the Rich Text Editor

Here you can opt to allow the browser you’re using to auto-save the rich-text content you enter into the editor. To decide whether or not to allow the browser you’re using to store for a limited time this content, refer to the article How does auto-save for the Rich-Text Editor work?

Also on the Editor tab you can choose the default toolbar layout that will display in the editor throughout Sakai. For the full/desktop toolbar, you can also choose whether to enable the toolbar to be collapsible.

Choose your editor preferences, then click Update Preferences.

Sites

The Sites tab allows you to hide sites from the site drawer.

Hiding Sites

To hide one or more of your active sites, click the Sites tab.

Hidden sites will show up in your list of all enrolled sites in tools such as Worksite Setup and Membership; however, they do not appear in the sites navigation bar of the left or in your Sites drawer.

Note: Hidden Sites are still active in the system, and are still available to other enrolled users regardless of individual site display preferences.

Select the sites you want to hide, then click Update Preferences.
