Sakai 23 - Rubrics: How do I view rubric grading statistics?

How do I view rubric grading statistics?

When grading an activity using a rubric, rubric statistics for that activity are provided in the form of a Student Summary and a Criteria Summary. These rubric statistics are available to instructors for the activity item in Gradebook. For activities graded in Assignments, views for rubric statistics can also be accessed in Assignments.

Important: Rubric scores must be saved for at least one student in order for any rubric summary data to display for the Student Summary and Criteria Summary.

Accessing rubric statistics in Gradebook

Click the arrow icon for the item associated with a rubric. Then select Rubric Preview/Statistics.

A preview of the grading rubric will display.

Click the Student Summary tab.

The Student Summary displays a table of criteria rating scores and total scores per student with a row of average scores at the bottom.

Click the Criteria Summary tab.

Click the title of a criterion to view its statistics.

A table of rating tallies will display. Below the table are statistics for the Average, Median, and Standard Deviation.

Accessing rubric statistics in Assignments

For an assignment associated with a rubric, click Grade.

This example assumes use of the new grading interface. (Rubrics statistics are also accessible in the legacy grading interface. However, their display is in the form of tabbed views, somewhat similar to the display format used in Gradebook.)

Check the checkbox labeled Use new grading interface. Click the name of any student.

Click the Grade Submission button.

Click the Rubric button.

Click the dropdown menu below the rubric title and select Student Summary.

The Student Summary displays a table of criteria rating scores and total scores per student with a row of average scores at the bottom. Use the horizontal scroll bar as needed to view all columns of the table.

Click the dropdown menu below the rubric title and select Criteria Summary.

Click the title of a criterion to view its statistics.

A table of rating tallies will display. Below the table are statistics for the Average, Median, and Standard Deviation.
