Zoom in a Hybrid Classroom
Instructions and steps to using Zoom in a Hybrid classroom environment.
Setting Up in the Hybrid Classroom
Getting Started:
- Press the Power button in the upper left corner of the Touch Panel.
- Adjust camera angle if needed via the Touch Panel in the Camera tab.
- Setting up the computer:
- IF using the classroom PC: turn on the PC (if needed) and login. Make sure the Input at the bottom of the Touch Panel shows the PC tower icon as selected.
- IF using a personal laptop: Turn on and log into your device, and plug the appropriate connection cable into your device (usually USB-C or HDMI).
NOTE: in most hybrid spaces on campus with cameras and mics built into the room, the classroom PC is the only device that can connect to these systems.
- Launch the Zoom app on the computer of your choice, and choose "Login with Google". Once logged in with your PLU Epass, you should see your Zoom meeting show up in the app.

After Launching Zoom:
- When in Zoom, the room's camera should automatically connect. If you do not see the room camera up in Zoom, simply click the little up-arrow next to the Video button in the lower left, and choose the room's camera option (circled in Blue below).
- If you need to screen share for a presentation, click the Screen Share button in the middle at the bottom of your screen (circled in Yellow below). Your room camera will still be active during the meeting if sharing your screen.
- When you want to Record, press the More (...) button in the lower right (circled in Red below), and hover over Record, then choose your desired option. Be aware, you will need to upload the recording from the classroom computer if choosing "record to this computer" while using the classroom computer.

Tips for Common Issues
- If the camera or projector isn't showing up on the screen, make sure to check the Display settings are set to the appropriate input, and the correct device is connected and selected on the touch panel.
- If you cannot hear any sound, double-check that the device is not muted, that it is plugged into the sound system if applicable, and that the device's audio input settings are using the correct device.
- Then, make sure that Zoom has the correct device selected in the ^ button by the Audio menu in the lower left.
