Flushing DNS Cache - Mac

How to flush the DNS cache on a Mac computer.
  • Open Terminal:
    • Click the magnifying glass in the top-right menu bar to open Spotlight Search, type "Terminal," and press Enter.
  • Enter the command:
    •  Copy and paste the following command into the Terminal window: sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder.
  • Press Enter:
    • Press the Enter key.

Enter your password: When prompted, type your Mac's administrator password. Note that the password will not be visible as you type.Press Enter again: Press Enter one more time to execute the command and flush the DNS cache.
