PLU Email and Email Client Setup
How to set up you PLU email in email software (Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, or similar).
Setting Up Your PLU Email
Since PLU uses Google's infrastructure, most email clients do not require you to manually enter IMAP or SMTP server settings.
- Web Access: Log into your PLU email at PLU Webmail.
- Email Clients (Outlook, Apple Mail, etc.): When adding your account, select "Google" or "Gmail" and log in using your standard PLU ePass credentials.
If your email client doesn't have an option to automatically set up your account you can manually enter the information.
Because PLU accounts are powered by Google, you will need to configure your IMAP and SMTP settings with the following information:
- Name: Your Name
- Email Address: Your full PLU email address (e.g. username@plu.edu)
- Username: Your full ePass username (e.g. username@plu.edu)
- Incoming Server (IMAP): imap.gmail.com | Port: 993 (Security: SSL)
- Outgoing Server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com | Port: 465 (Security: SSL)
