Palm Cameras (Vixia HF R800)

Description: The Vixia HF R800 palm camera is a good, basic video recorder with a variety of adjustments for different environments and lighting conditions. 

Appropriate Usage: It’s best suited for shorter or longer shot duration, with proper lighting and sound equipment.

Setup:

  1. Insert the battery and SD card provided in the camera bag.
  2. Attach or connect any audio equipment if applicable.
  3. Hold the On/Off toggle and flip open the LCD screen.
  4. Tap the mode button in the upper left corner of the screen and set the mode to “Auto”.
  5. Adjust settings in the lower right corner of the screen as needed.
  6. Check audio levels. Preferably record between -18 and -12dB. Increase or decrease audio levels on your device or in the settings in the lower right corner as needed.
  7. Make sure to check battery levels while recording, and swap/charge batteries if needed.
