How do I change my privacy settings?

All information entered in your profile is optional. If entered, other Sakai users can view your profile information through the Roster tool or through your message posts in the Discussions and Chat Room tools. Besides the option to remove the information you have entered in your profile, the display of this information can also be controlled through privacy settings, one for each section of your profile (e.g., Basic InformationContact Information, etc.). However, there are no privacy settings below for Pronouns & Name Pronunciation. If set, pronouns and name pronunciation settings display solely within the Roster tool for course sites.

Note: There is also no privacy setting for the profile picture to hide it from other Sakai users. However, you may remove an existing picture which will set your initials as the default avatar. Or you can chose an image with which you are comfortable to display to others as your profile picture. See the article, How do I edit my profile photo?

Go to Profile.

Select the Profile tool from the Tool Menu in your Home site.

Click Privacy.

Modify your privacy settings.

You may use the drop-down menus to change the privacy settings for each of the items listed.

Note: Depending on your institutional Profile settings, some of these privacy settings may be locked or unavailable.

Click Save settings.

If you make any changes, be sure to click Save settings to save your changes.
