Sakai 23 - Tests & Quizzes: How do I allow a student to finish a test or quiz they started but did not submit?

How do I allow a student to finish a test or quiz they started but did not submit?

A student who began an assessment but failed to submit it prior to the due date (or if set, the late submission date) will no longer have access to it. The instructor can use an exception to reopen it as explained in How do I use an exception to reopen a test or quiz for one or more students after its due date?

Note: If the original assessment was timed via the Set a Time Limit controls, the assessment would have automatically submitted when the time limit expired or due date passed, whichever came first. In this case, there is no way to resume the assessment where the student left off. The instructor can grant a retake, although that would require the student to repeat the whole assessment.
