How do I register my response device or redeem my TurningPoint account subscription?
The following steps will walk you through the process of registering a response device for class and/or redeeming a TurningPoint account subscription that you had purchased through the university bookstore.
Important: Students must register subscription codes and device IDs through Sakai per the instructions below.
1. Navigate to your Sakai course, and click TurningPoint.
NOTE: This step assumes that the instructor has added the TurningPoint tool to the course site in Sakai. Details for instructors about this are in the document, How do I add a tool to my course site to integrate with the TurningPoint App?
Navigate to a course in Sakai where clickers will be used, and click the TurningPoint tool in the tool menu.
If TurningPoint does not immediately launch in a new browser tab, click the Re-launch external tool link.
2. Sign In to TurningPoint.
For the Email text field, enter the PLU email address that Sakai attributes to you, and click Sign In.
Important: You must use the same PLU email address that Sakai attributes to you. (See How do I know which PLU email address to use for my TurningPoint account?)
Note: If you have already set up your TurningPoint account and are signed into your ePass, you may not see the steps listed in this section.
Sign in with your PLU ePass information.
3. Initialize your TurningPoint account.
If you are a first-time user of TuningPoint, you will likely need to initialize your account. See How do I initialize my TurningPoint account?
4. Check your status in the TurningPoint dashboard.
When you have signed in and/or finished initializing your account, you will see the TurningPoint Profile displayed. If you have a check mark for Subscriptions, Response Device and Learning Management System, you are finished. The following figure depicts only one of these three items as complete.
If you have a yellow exclamation point to the left of Subscriptions or Response Devices, follow the appropriate steps below. (If you have a yellow exclamation point to the left of Learning Management System, you need to sign in to TurningPoint through Sakai per step 1 above.)
Have a yellow exclamation point to the left of Subscriptions?
If you have a yellow exclamation point to the left of Subscriptions, it is because you have not yet applied a subscription to your account.
Select Profile from the top menu of TurningPoint, and click the blue "+" logo, Add/Purchase a Subscription. If you have a Subscription Code, enter it in the text field and click Redeem. If you do not have a code, click Purchase Subscription. Follow instructions to purchase a code online.
Have a yellow exclamation point to the left of Response Devices?
If you have an yellow exclamation point to the left of Response Devices it is because you have not yet registered a device to your TurningPoint account.
Select Profile from the top menu of TurningPoint. Navigate to the Response Devices section and enter the Clicker ID, located on the back of your clicker, then click Add.
