How do I download a participant list from Sakai to the TurningPoint App?
In the TurningPoint App instructors can import a participant list of students with their registered device IDs and license codes from one or more Sakai courses.
1. Launch the TurningPoint App.
Important: For integration with Sakai, the version of TurningPoint required is version 8.7 or greater.
Launch the TurningPoint App from your PC or Mac. If TurningPoint is being launched for the first time, you will need to select your geographical region and click CONNECT.
Click Sign In.
Enter your PLU ePass username and password. Click Login. Then, continue through any remaining prompts for authenticating with Duo.
3. Add a course.
Select Download from LMS and click Create Course.
4. Connect to Sakai.
The server login window is displayed. Select Sakai SSO from the Integration drop-down menu, and enter https://sakai.plu.edu for the Server Address. You must use https in the URL instead of http. Click the Connect button.
Sakai loads in the Connect to Integration window that then appears. Click the ePass login button which should authenticate your credentials automatically. If not, you will need to login again to authenticate.
After you authenticate, Sakai within the popup window should appear as if you had authenticated with Sakai. Click the Finalize Connection button at the bottom right.
5. Choose a course for importing a participant list.
The course selection window is displayed. Check the course(s) to import and click the Import button.
Upon a successful import, you should see a popup message with a count of how many courses were successfully imported. Click OK.
6. View the imported course participant list.
The course participant list now appears in the left panel. Click on a list to see its participants. The imported participant list contains the following information: Last Name, First Name, Subscription, Account Linked, Device ID(s), User ID, and Email.
Note: The "User ID" will likely be empty or contain a string that the student might have entered if using ResponseWare instead of a clicker device.
