How do I rearrange or rename the items in the Tool Menu?
The Tool Menu can be customized by the instructor of the course to modify the order or appearance of menu items in the site. Tools can be renamed, hidden from students, locked, or deleted.
Go to Site Info.
Select the Site Info tool from the Tool Menu of your site.
Click Tool Order.
Click Tool Order from Site Info tabs.
Drag and Drop items to rearrange the tool order.
- Click the tool's triple bar icon and drag and drop the tool to place it where desired.
- Click the tool's up or down chevron icon to move the tool one position up or down in the tool order.
Either action is saved automatically, though you will need to click Done at the bottom of the Tool Order view or refresh the browser window to see the results display in the tool menu.
Rename a tool.
Click the pencil icon to Edit Tool Settings.
Type the new name for the tool.
In this example, the Assignments tool was renamed as Journaling. Click the Save button to save your changes.
Hide a tool from students.

Delete a tool.
Deleting a tool has the same affect as removing a tool using the Manage Tools option in Site Info. It will remove the tool from the menu and deactivate it in the site, but it will not delete any content that exists within the tool.
Click the trash icon to Delete this Tool. To proceed with deleting, click OK in the popup confirmation dialog.
Note: Not all tools can be deleted. If the tool cannot be deleted, that option will not appear in the drop-down menu.
Click Done.
Once you have completed all of your changes, click the Save button at the bottom of the list.
