Screencast-O-Matic: Installing

As of 2023, ScreenPal/Screencast-O-Matic is being phased out.


Staff & faculty are recommended to use WeVideo: Information or OBS: Quickstart Guide for any future screen recording needs.

Only PLU faculty and staff are allowed to use our licensed PRO version of Screencast-O-Matic. Follow the instructions below, and email itech@plu.edu for license credentials.
 
To download and install Screencast-O-Matic:
  1. Open a web browser and navigate to screencast-o-matic.com/download.
  2. Click the Download Install button. The download will begin. 
  3. Install the software.
  • Windows: Navigate to the download location of the installation file and open it. Proceed through the installation steps until complete.
  • Mac: A new Finder window will open. Click-and-drag the Screencast-O-Matic icon into the Applications folder. 
  • Launch Screencast-O-Matic. 
  • When booted, select the “Team Plan” license option and enter the license information. If you don’t have it, contact itech@plu.edu.
Admin access on the computer may be required to install. If you’re unable to install, contact helpdesk@plu.edu.
