Sakai 23 - Assignments: How do the new and legacy grading interfaces differ?

How do the new and legacy grading interfaces differ?

In Assignments instructors can choose to grade student submissions with one of two grading interfaces: new and legacy. Instructors may opt to use the new grading interface in order to preview the contents of submitted PDF or Microsoft Word documents. Note that for Microsoft Word documents there are limitations for the kinds of content or formatting that the new grading interface can display; nevertheless, these files can still be downloaded for viewing outside Sakai.

Warning: The Safari browser is not compatible with the new grading interface for Assignments. Use the legacy grading interface to continue using Safari. Otherwise switch to a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox.

Also note that there are some features that the legacy interface supports but the new interface does not and vice versa. The table below summarizes significant distinctions between the two grading interfaces.
