How do I set my personal pronouns for my PLU account?

 

The option is now available for students, faculty and staff to indicate a preferred set of pronouns for their ePass profile. Setting your personal pronouns can be done in Banner Self-Service by first logging in at banweb.plu.edu using your PLU ePass credentials.  Once logged in, click on the Personal Information tab at the top of the page.

Next, select the View/Update Personal Information option.

Under the Personal Details section at the top, select the Edit button. Here you have the option to indicate your chosen first name, personal pronouns and gender identification.

Use the drop down arrow to select from one of the listed options. By default or if nothing is selected, this field will show as blank or “not selected” to anyone viewing your profile.  To finalize any changes you have made, click on the “Update” button at the bottom of the window.

Setting your personal pronouns in Banner will automatically trigger a change to your profile on other PLU systems tied to your ePass, such as Sakai.  Please note that propagation of this information into other systems may take up to 24 hours to complete.  Also, please be aware that not all PLU systems are currently set up to update this value from Banner.  Additional applications will be added to the automation process when available; however, until that time, you may need to log into these systems and manually set the pronoun selection when/if the option is offered.
