Canva: Adding Elements
Canva, 2021. Be aware that different versions of Canva will vary in appearance and functionality. Access Canva at Canva.com.
Elements in Canva include shapes, image frames, charts, and various types of clipart and icons. Be aware that elements marked as Premium will not appear on an exported/printed design from a Free Canva account.
Use the options in the Toolbar above the Canvas to change the element settings, such as the color. Options available in the bar will depend on the type of element thats selected.
To add an element to a design:
- Click the Elements tab from the column to the left.
- Select an element. It will be added to the design.
- Use the search bar at the top of the menu to look for specific elements.
Toolbar Options
1. Position: change the alignment of the content on the Canvas, as well as the layer order.
2. Transparency: adjust the transparency, which will make the content more or less see-through.
3. Link
4. Lock: lock the content in place. This prevents it from being accidentally moved.
5. Duplicate
6. Delete
Additional Editing Options
- Resize: select the element, then click-and-drag one of the white handles that appears along the border.
- Reposition: select the element, then click-and-drag from inside the box to a new location.
- Rotate: select the element, then click-and-drag the white rotation handle left-or-right.
