Google Meet: Joining a Meeting

Google Meet, 2021. Be aware that different versions of Meet will vary in appearance and functionality.


The host, which is the person who sets up the meeting, will need to share the meeting link or add invitees to the corresponding Google Calendar event.

Hosts

To join a meeting as a host:
  1. Click the “Join with Google Meet” button from the corresponding Google Calendar event.
  2. Adjust video and audio settings as desired. Click the three-dot button to the top-right to access additional settings.
  3. When ready, click “Join now.”


Participants

To join a meeting as a participant:
  1. When it’s time to join the meeting, click the “Join with Google Meet” button from the calendar event, or the meeting join link (whichever was shared). The meeting will open in a new browser tab.
  2. Adjust video and audio settings as desired. Click the three-dot button to the top-right to access additional settings.
  3. When ready, click  “Join now.” 
  4. When the meeting is over, click the Leave Call button, which looks like a phone, to exit.
