WeVideo: Adding Transitions

WeVideo, 2022. Be aware that different versions of WeVideo will vary in appearance and functionality.

A transition is an effect that can be used to stitch clips together. Transitions are used in various ways, such as to tell the audience that there has been a change in scenes or a jump in time. Avoid using flashy or obvious transitions as they are distracting to the audience. The most effective and widely used video transitions are Cross Fade, Cross Blur, Dip to Black, and Dip to White. Transitions can be applied to video, photo, and text clips.

To add a transition between two clips:
  1. Navigate to the Transitions tab from the panel to the left.

  2. Navigate through the folders and click clips to preview them.
  3. Click-and-drag the desired transition between two clips in a video track in the Timeline. The transition will appear as a small gray clip.
  4. Play the transition from the Timeline to see it. If adjustments need to be made, such as to change the duration, click the transition clip in the timeline and make edits in the pop-up that appears.
